WHAT SETS CALIFORNIA WILLS & TRUSTS APART?

California Wills & Trusts helps you create high-quality estate planning documents tailored to your clients' individual needs. It is authored by California attorneys who are nationally recognized estate planning experts. The program's patented Intelligent Legal Technology® uses a question and answer session to guide you through the drafting process. Up-to-date research and analysis tailored to each question appears on screen when you need it. You can see your document change as you select among a question's choices. The program generates legally sound, internally consistent documents and sends them to your word processor. This is the system that the California Wills & Trusts authors use to draft their estate planning documents.

PRODUCT FEATURES

  • Enter information only once. Answer a question once and the program uses that information in each document for the client. Hence, when drafting a pour-over will or a health care directive, there is no need to re-enter information that was gathered when drafting the revocable inter vivos trust.
  • Easily create documents for married couples. Draft two-settlor trusts and other documents for married couples. Create mirror documents for a spouse simply by answering one question. The system will take care of the rest.
  • Quickly produce similar estate plans for different clients. The program's Template Assistant will help you create an unlimited number of "Template" files in which you save your answers to one or more questions. You can select among these Templates when you begin drafting documents for a new client - the program will skip those pre-answered questions unless you decide to review them.
  • Customize the style and terms used in documents. You choose whether you want a document written in the first person or third person, and whether you want to use "settlor," "trustor," or some other term.
  • Expedite the will and trust drafting process. The program's QuickWill/Trust feature allows you to automatically choose answers that were pre-selected by our expert authors, so you can create wills and trusts in just minutes.
  • Automatically generate a client synopsis of the will or trust. Just answer "Yes" to one question and the program will attach a summary of the will or trust provisions in plain language directed to the client.
  • Custom format in Word and WordPerfect. You can edit the heading and paragraph styles in Microsoft® Word 97, 2000, and 2002, and Corel® WordPerfect® 8, 9, 10 and 11. You can also automatically update the Table of Contents, symbolic numbering, and cross-references in those word processors after you edit your document.
