Spouses may transmute property between themselves without consideration.

An automobile is not a "tangible article[] of a personal nature" capable of being gifted without a writing pursuant to FC 852(c).

Jewelry that was substantial in value, taking into consideration circumstances of the marriage, is subject to no oral transmutation rule; gift card must meet requirements of Fam. Code §852.
