Personal service may be accomplished by personal delivery of copy of summons and complaint on person to be served.

Who may serve summons?

Dist. court correctly found D served with summons and complaint after he acknowledged in court filing that he lived at the address and couldn't proved someone else was served.

As P’s change of address notice directing service of all papers to the listed address was a specific provision governing manner of service, delivery of discovery and SJ papers to an adult there was proper personal service.

Japanese manufacturer can be served under CA law simply by serving Japanese manufacturer's American subsidiary; Hague Service convention not required.

Complaint must be served on D before non-party service of business records depo subpoena.
