Court retains continuing jurisdiction to modify spousal support awards, even if paying spouse leaves state.
Cal. has continuing, exclusive jurisdiction over support orders entered in this state and may not modify out-of-state orders if that state has continuing, exclusive jurisdiction over order under law of that state.
Cal. court may request court of another state to enforce or modify its orders or may respond to requests of other states to enforce or modify a Cal. order. Cal. ct. may not modify another state’s s/s order.
