General denial is satisfactory if complaint is not verified and puts in issue every material allegation of the complaint.

If complaint subject to Code Civ. Proc. §90 et seq., general denial sufficient whether or not complaint verified unless cause of action assigned to 3d party for collection and complaint is verified.

If action involves $1,000 or less, may file general denial and brief statement of new matter defenses on Judicial Council form.

Where complaint not verified, general denial puts in issue every material allegation of complaint.
