Mandatory duty to report suspected or known child abuse or neglect.

Though Sheriff's Dept. had a mandatory duty to cross-report 911 child abuse allegations to child welfare, CANRA did not impose such duty on the investigating deputy sheriff.

CANRA does not impose a mandatory duty on police officer who abuses a child to report that abuse as it would require officer to forfeit his Fifth Amend. privilege against self-incrimination.
